About Me

I work from my studio at my home in rural North Cork – I enjoy drawing in my garden whose inhabitants include hens, cats, dogs & a beehive. A wildflower area also provides lots of inspiring activity to observe and to work from.  I also find inspiration from observing people, their expressions & the environments they live in.

I have developed a passion for drawing and mark-making in general, whatever the media although my preferences are for charcoal, graphite and watercolour.

I attended the Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork as a mature student having previously worked in Social Work for many years.

I  worked as an Art Facilitator with older adults in various Nursing Homes up to 2020.  I have worked on the Lonradh Programme at the Crawford Art Gallery where people with memory loss and their family and carers  for the past nine years and and began doing vieos called  creative-cocooning-with-crawford- art-gallery-online at the start of the pandemic. Since November 2020 I have been doing online videos  with fellow artist Inge van Doorslaer for the Lonradh programme based on the Crawford Art Gallery’s  permanent collection  https://crawfordartgallery.ie/lonradh-at-home-video.

I am a member of Visual Artists Ireland, Backwater Artists Network and Nuacollective.
